You still trust mainstream media?

Recently, I had an exchange with someone who seemed to imply that it’s crazy to distrust multiple media sources. Despite the fact that only 6 corporations control the vast majority of the media, people still find it easy to believe that these corporations are not working together towards some mutual goal. Even though the very basic concept of a corporation is to make money for its investors by any means, we still trust that these corporations will not manipulate us.

Of course the media companies are going to do what is in their best interest. Anyone on TV is probably making money based off of the advertisements that run during the programming. These advertisements are funded by corporations that have agendas. They ensure that the news is filled with stories that will bring you to trust them. It’s called sponsored content, and I am amazed that there are people my age who don’t understand this by now.

If you don’t believe that there is something deeper going on comma explain this video:

You still think it is a coincidence that everyone on the news is saying the same thing? I am the one that is crazy because I recognize a pattern in the way corporations and the government are communicating with us? This amazes me. This is exactly why the rest of the world looks on in horror, as the American people are manipulated by politicians who are corrupt and don’t give a damn about the rest of the country. This is the reason that climate change can be so ridiculously overlooked in the presidential debates, and so few people are showing any concern about that. We’re going to be fighting over freaking water one day!

If you trust the mainstream media, and you do no research, you are going to make mistakes. You are going to make decisions that do not help you because you have been manipulated into believing someone else’s story about what you should believe.Don’t listen to me: go research something! The wealthy establishment in this country is operating in a system that cannot last forever as the future generations become more informed. In the meantime, they are trying to secure as much power as possible so that the upcoming revolution cannot succeed.

But I can understand how it may be more comfortable to stay inside of your shell, and ignore all of these problems that are developing. We just want to stick to our bubble where we are safe from these problems, so we convince ourselves that it’s more practical or pragmatic to vote for someone who doesn’t care about us. Just because it would be a little difficult to change things; its sad.

A vote for Clinton or (especially) Trump is a vote for your own ignorance. But they do say that is bliss.
